Things are looking much better after a day off. And the best kind of day off, too, gray and rainy and no where to go, nothing to do. I read, I napped, it was divine.
Today was amazing, especially considering how overwhelmed I felt this morning. Somehow over the course of the day I got a lot of the bits and pieces done, and even figured out that I had done some stuff last week I forgot. All in all, I’m mostly caught up now. So very nice. The to do list for tomorrow is looking pretty manageable, except for a call to the lawyer to find out what the heck is going on with my divorce. My ex-husband did mention his lawyer has been out of town, but I’d really like to know where we stand with the process.
Lunch today was a tasty spinach salad, corn soup with fresh corn, lots of fresh parsley and garbanzo beans, and a “baby, I’m a star” tofu patty thing. Dinner was leftover banana walnut pancakes. It’s all about balance, right?

HDMB update: they emailed me back and said they’re really sorry, but Macadamia Brittle has been discontinued, and unless they get overwhelming requests to bring it back, that’s that. So, let’s overwhelm them! I’m thinking it wasn’t lack of interest, but the inherent cost of the ingredients that drove their decision to discontinue the best ice cream ever made. If you’d like to see it back in your grocer’s freezer, please go to http://www.haagen-dazs.com/company/contact.aspx and jot a quick note asking them to bring back Macadamia Brittle. It’s the right thing to do. I’m boycotting ice cream altogether until it comes back. I just can’t fathom there’s any other flavor worthy of my time, money and devotion.
